Florida Indian Engagement Photography – St. Petersburg & Tampa, Florida

I had the pleasure of spending a day in Florida with Swapomthi and Neeraj (and his parents), hanging out, getting to know each other and taking some gorgeous Engagement Photos in and around St. Petersburg and Tampa. We had a full day of shooting and fun, interspersed with amazing South Indian food that Neeraj’s mom cooked and coffee with Neeraj’s dad!

We had a blast, right from the time Neeraj picked me up from the airport in his Prius; to finding chairs/lifts for Swapomthi at the Hindu Temple; the amazing natural beauty of the Sunken Gardens; to our misadventures at the super windy beach; standing in the middle of the street for photos; jumping in-front of fountains; battling downtown Tampa traffic; parking in no-parking-zones for photos atop trees; rushing to get me back to the airport! This was an action packed adventure.

It really didn’t feel like I had just met y’all for the first time, and when I left, it really didn’t feel like just a day in Florida. Felt more like a fun weekend spent with friends and family! We captured a lot of wonderful memories, had tons of fun and Neeraj’s SMS made me smile ear to ear – he texted “It feels like you are part of the family! Can’t wait to see you in June!” I can’t wait to see the two of you and your family either! And photograph your amazing journey!

We usually have a lot of fun on our Engagement sessions; but Rashna and Jaideep’s San Antonio Engagement session blew it out of the water! Rashna had flown down from Dallas for the engagement shoot – because San Antonio is where these two had met. Where in San Antonio you ask? At a Starbucks! Scout’s honor, I’m not making this up! These two really met at a coffee shop and they are getting married on August 10th – check out the Starbucks coffee cups and other props they brought along

We can’t wait for their amazing wedding celebration – thats going to be a mix of Maharashtrian, Parsi and Malayali Parsi cultures! Hope y’all enjoy their lovely photos!

This happy and colorful Indian Engagement session comes to you from Downtown Houston. Poonum and Sagar make a gorgeous couple with their infectious smiles, hearty laughs and tender looks when they gaze into each others eyes. It was great being able to spend an evening with them and see the deep love they have for each other. We had wonderful time shooting their engagement photos just walking around, chatting and having an all around fun time! We’re very excited to shoot their wedding coming up this November!

We can’t get enough of this gorgeous couple; and are super excited about their Houston Indian wedding coming up in May. Tina & Veeral embarked their love story in the streets and cafes of Europe, and we had the pleasure of photographing their love in the parks, bridges, alleys and warehouses of Downtown Houston!

Their smiles were contagious, but when they turned on the charm, they were smoldering! We are very excited to share these images with y’all and can’t wait for more. A big thanks to Justin for assisting with the shoot!

The Mehndi or Henna ceremony in Pakistani weddings is a very informal and intimate ceremony where the bride and groom enter the ceremony under a canopy held afloat by their close friends and family. The bride, entered the hall while the groom and his friends and family waiting outside. They followed the bride, with drums and much fan-fare! They were both dressed in gorgeous outfits and the bride’s hands are already decked with gorgeous henna! After they entered the ceremony hall, they were greeted by everyone. Then the guests proceed to bless the happy couple, apply mehndi on their palms as well as feed them sweets, and gift them money.

After all the rituals and scrumptious food, the brides side challenged the groom’s side to a game of Antakshari – an age old South Asian game of singing verses of songs begining with the last consonant of the last song! Both the teams were very competitive, but I think the bride’s side won! What do y’all think?

After their traditional Punjabi wedding, Navreet & Alan hosted a spectacular Wedding Reception at the Vintage Villas in Austin. Everybody danced their feet off to DJ Chet’s beats. The gorgeous Austin sunset, over Lake Austin made for some amazing portraits! I promise I didn’t PhotoShop that sky! The clouds just did that naturally!

The Bride and Groom got ready at the Vintage Villas, and got married in a traditional Punjabi ceremony at the Gurdwara. San Antonio Garba Photography

Here are some photos from Kavita & Atish’s garba. The Garden Ridge Community Center in San Antonio was decorated beautifully by Mandap Creations, and provided the perfect backdrop for their Garba. But before they got to boogie on the dance floor, Kavita’s sister-in-law performed the “Lugra Vidhi” and Kavita was more than happy to receive gifts, jewelry and clothes. Then came the very very fun “Pani Pivaring” ritual, where Kavita’s cousins tried extorting Atish by offering spiked/nasty soda/drinks!! And then these guys started the garba in earnest! We are so excited to bring you Kavita and Atish’s Gujarati Indian Wedding from San Antonio, Texas. We start of their wedding with Kavita’s Pithi Ceremony. This beautiful pithi ceremony comes to you from San Antonio, Texas. The pithi is the ritualistic cleansing and preparation for marriage. A paste of yellow turmeric is applied on the bride (and the groom) and they are cleansed and blessed.
